MEET TARA

TARA HABECK, FOUNDER AND TEACHER

Tara Habeck is passionate about early childhood education and the rich connections between communities, individuals and the environment. She founded the Ann Arbor Forest School in 2012, then called Florecita, after studying outdoor education with her mentor and neighbor, Jeannine Palms of Blossom Home. Tara is a world traveler and an avid learner. She is bilingual in Spanish.

  • B.A. in Psychology with a Minor in Spanish, University of Michigan
  • Advanced Certificate in Child Care Professional, Washtenaw Community College
  • Permaculture Design for Educators
  • Training in adult/child interactions with Kim John Payne, consultant and author of Simplicity Parenting
  • Non-Violent Communication Training
